Create new company contact records from the donation flow

Automatically create a new company record when a donor selects "This contribution in on behalf of a company" when making a donation.

This is a known issue and must be addressed. Corporate donations make a huge part of fundraising and must be attributed correctly. The idea that the system asks for the contact information of the individual entering the donation and attributing the donation to them is absolutely incorrect and will create reporting issues. In addition, the feeds look terrible because we don't even have the abillity to fix that. It creates an administrative nightmare and certainly is not creating an atmosphere of ease of donating for our corporate sponsors. So much "back end" work and workarounds for something that simply must be fixed.

The option to create company contacts upon transaction is a critical requirement for proper financial reporting. Reassigning transactions is tedious and does not address year-end tax statements, which can generate duplicate transactions in reports and statements. Agreeing with Michelle, it’s a major flaw.

Agreed. This is major issue for IRS reasons and could cause donor dissatisfaction if they don't want their individual name tied to the donation.

This is a serious issue - charitable receipts are being issued to individuals and then we have to manually re-assign the donation to the company which is what we would use for the annual statement of giving...end result - two get a receipt for the same donation. Major IRS issue here!

For our fundraising breakfast the majority of table sponsorships and single tickets will be corporate, and often corporations that are new to us.

This would be awesome for sponsorship donations!
