Bumping this up for slightly different use: to have a donor's preferred recognition name as a field completed as part of giving, instead of as a custom field. That way folks can include partners for certain donations (or not), include that the recognitions should be "The XYZ Family" or whatever the case may be.

I’m bumping this back up. Someone saying Hi Nicholas! to me is a red flag that I don’t want to hear from them. On the flip side, getting a receipt that says Nick is less ideal. Need preferred first name for email and letters.
