Ability to record Soft Credits
Tori Meglio
To give a Contact credit for a donation another Contact or Company makes, add a soft credit.
Soft credits can help track who gives to your organization and develop relationships with prospective donors.
For example, use soft credits to credit a donor when their company matches gifts, credit a solicitor, or to credit a participant in a sponsored event.

This is critical to donor stewardship for employer matching, donor advised funds, and other third-party gifts!

Is there any update on this? Soft credits or even crediting a gift to more than one contact is essential to accurate record keeping for couples who give together. Currently, I have to put both spouses names into one contact and when I enter phone number and email, there is no way to mark which email or phone number belongs to which spouse. It doesn't work to have 2 separate contacts under one household, because the gifts are equally from both individuals.

Yes, this is essential!! We use this regularly in the other donor platform we are leaving in order to join GiveButter. This is one of the few gaping holes that GB doesn't provide that our previous platform does.

I can't stress enough how much we need this feature! I've tried to come up with a good workaround using peer-to-peer functions, but it's just not happening without having to involve the donors in the process of setting up dummy campaigns. We need to be able to track these things behind the scenes.
