We plan to change out the list of funds regularly and want to be able to track this historical data for compliance. The current recommendation is to add "inactive" to the fund but that will look messy over time, and people may accidentally select inactive funds when donating.

This seems older as a request, and I want to bump it up. I'm really surprised this isn't a big issue for other nonprofits?? Our accounting needs funds listed for historical reconciliations and end of year reporting. But we need certain projects to not receive funds anymore, because we can't honor those donor's wishes of how to use the money since that project ended. We also can't remove it from the all donations dropdown- so we can't stop people from donating. I think this is a really important feature fix!

For sure! An "archive" would be perfect. When we migrated to GB, I imported the past 10 years of transactions to take our history with us. Now I have 10 years of inactive campaigns that just waste screen and menu space.
