Let event updates to reach all event attendees, regardless of email/SMS communication preferences
Ruthie
Use case scenario:
We need a way to send attendees important event updates — arrival/parking/accessibility instructions, schedule or venue changes, auction or bidding instructions, virtual-event links, and urgent event-day updates — even if they've opted out of marketing emails.
We absolutely should respect marketing communication preferences (Email and SMS). But these are not newsletters or fundraising appeals. They are important updates about an event someone registered for or is attending.
Givebutter already sends reminder emails to ticket holders 24 hours and 1 hour before an event, regardless of marketing communication preferences. Please give organizers the same ability to send other necessary event updates when needed.
Ask: This could be 1) an “Event communication” option in Engage menu or 2) a Communications section inside each Campaign (Event) menu. Organizers should be able to choose the timing, audience, and email or SMS channel where permitted.
Without this, we must export attendee information and use another platform... which creates more work and increases the chance that someone misses critical information.

It didn't even occur to me that ticket holders could opt-out of event-related communication. In years past, we've needed to send out last-minute alerts because of weather-related changes. Thank you for suggesting this!

Thank you Ruthie. I think these are related and should be considered together:
