Allow soft-credited gifts to count toward donor lifecycle status and retention reporting, ideally as an optional setting. A donor who previously gave directly and switches to monthly DAF giving can currently appear as a “Lapsed Donor,” despite ongoing soft-credited gifts showing on their contact profile. Organizations need to recognize that continued support without treating soft credits as additional tax-deductible donations or double-counting revenue.
