Import opt-in status of Contacts for email and text

Add a column when importing Contacts and Recurring Plans that allow for opt-in settings = TRUE or FALSE
For example: even though the MailChimp subscribers are "opted in," it seems all contacts are added to GiveButter as unsubscribed to both email and text.

We've added the ability to import contacts with their Engage subscription preference.
Each Contact has the option for Email and Phone Subscription Status.
To subscribe use true/on/yes/1, and unsubscribe use false/off/no/0.

Subscription for emails and texts on on imported contacts

When importing contacts into Givebutter they do not subscribe to receiving emails or texts! Without that feature importing contacts to use in Engage is moot. The entire feature is not very useful if you can't use the contacts you import . I only imported my contacts from Bloomerang in order to be able to utilize the givebutter platform for an upcoming campaign through Engage . To go through hundreds of contacts to change their preferences is tedious at best and not possible . Not sure what other feedback you have gotten but it needs to be dealt with asap.

I imported contacts for the first time yesterday to use Engage. I'd like to see email and SMS opt-in during import, as separate options. Marking no to email, but yes to SMS.

I would also add: allow these opt-in statuses for both email and SMS be in the Zapier integration for adding a contact to GiveButter. Currently, both Import and Zapier default to unsubscribed. Either default to Subscribed or give the ability to specify this - for both Import and Zapier

Just to emphasize that if the GB Engage platform is to replace something like MailChimp, then making it easy for migration from other platforms is critical. The import feature is fantastic, with the mapping steps, etc. But if you've got hundreds of subscribers in MailChimp and import them, by default these subscribers are NOT subscribers (that is, opted-out of both email and text by default after import). So then I have to go one by one, hundreds of subscribers, and mark them as subscribed.
