Jordan Patrick Anymore timing updates? Our gala is Sept 5... :-)
Jordan Patrick
Hi Keri LaBrant, this is coming very soon :) And it'll be available for you to use for that September 5th Gala. Also, you can start selling tickets and this feature will work with existing events and tickets sold once it's released!

Hi! We are another nonprofit interested in using the seating chart feature for a September 4th event in a 300-seat theater. Reading through comments I see a possible July release date for this Givebutter feature. Any chance there's a set date for release, or an option to use a beta version? Thanks for your help!
Jordan Patrick
Hi Johanna Divine, we're very close to releasing this feature and it will be available for your event on September 4th and be able to accommodate your 300 person event!
Also, our Table Seating feature will allow you to seat attendees that have already purchased tickets. So, you can start selling tickets now (if you haven't already) and it'll be able to be used for tickets already sold as well as future tickets you sell :)

Jordan Patrick - that’s great news! We are really eager to use this tool. Our tickets go on sale Aug 4. Assuming we just sell as “General Admission” and when the seating chart comes available we can ask people who have already purchased to choose a seat?

Bonne Giglio
My non profit is a new user of Give Butter and one of the reasons we switched was to use a one stop website, instead of the multiple sites we were using. We have used a different site for our annual event that allows admin to create a seating chart and then the ticket buyers can pick their seats on the user end. I would love to be able to do that on Give Butter, either having the admin side be able to make a seating chart or have the user end be able to pick their seats, or both. Thanks for taking suggestions!
Jordan Patrick
Thanks for being a new Givebutter user Bonne Giglio! Our first version of Table Seating that we're releasing soon will be for Admins only to seat ticket buyers instead of ticket buyers picking their own seats. That type of functionality is on our radar though for future version and improvements to this feature and we're excited for you to be able to use this feature soon :)

Jordan Patrick This is great news! I have an event in August and one in December. What is the timing for implementation, and will there be training available?
Jordan Patrick
Hi Pamela Battle - I hope planning for your August event is going well! We're getting really close to finishing up this feature with a hopeful release in July :)
The good news is that it'll work for all existing events and ticket purchases! So, if you start collecting tickets on Givebutter, you'll be able to use the table seating feature for existing events and tickets purchased once it's released!
Also, we'll have help center articles when it's first released followed by some additional training materials in the future.

As a community theater, uploadable seating charts for more than just tables is crucial for us.
Jordan Patrick
Hi Christine Root! Thanks so much for your feedback. As a community theater, I totally understand how crucial uploadable seating charts are for venues with lots of tables. The good news is that Table Seating is coming your way soon! We're launching our first version in late Q2/early Q3 that will include custom table creation, intuitive drag-and-drop assignments, and easy exports.
While the initial release won't have a visual floor plan editor, we've already got that feature on our roadmap for version 2.0. You'll be able to create and manage all your tables directly within Givebutter, making life so much easier for your theater events. Keep the feedback coming – it helps us prioritize what matters most to you!

Jordan Patrick Great to see this is planned! Our renewal for Classy Live is coming up and having this feature available by November 2025 would likely see us move over to GB for our annual Gala. Do you have an estimated completion date you can share for this feature to go live?

Cathe Huynh-Sison
Jordan Patrick Do you have a time table for when will this feature be implemented? It would be great if it happens by end of 2025 Q3!
Jordan Patrick
Hi Cathe Huynh-Sison & Trevar Mazza - The "Table Seating" featured is currently planned for Late Q2/Early Q3 2025. We're really excited to get this highly requested feature released for you both as well as the rest of the Givebutter community!

Jordan Patrick Assigned seating for theaters would be a great feature. Our show is in October. Is there a workaround right now? It looks like you need to create something for every single seat?
Jordan Patrick
Hey Gina Downey! We hear you on the assigned seating for theaters – that would be super helpful! The good news is that Table Seating is coming in late Q2/early Q3, which should be perfect timing for your October show.
It will have functionality to create seating assignments for every table (which for theater seating could be used as "Rows" with seat numbers instead of tables)! You'll be able to set up tables/rows with custom names and varying numbers of seats, and either manually assign guests (with intuitive drag-and-drop) based on the theater row they purchased as a ticket or use auto-seating to place groups together.
We're designing this with flexibility in mind so it works for both traditional tables and theater-style arrangements, but the the initial version will be a flexible version that is built primarily for traditional table seating but can be used for theater-style seating using the workaround. Hopefully the flexibility and the workaround mentioned above works for you though and please let me know if you have additional thoughts. Looking forward to seeing how it helps with your October show!
