Ability to limit promo code usage per ticket

Tracks the tickets to avoid the possibility of overuse, especially if the promo code is being used by multiple people, and it doesn't track each ticket as part of the quantity allowed if purchased in separate transactions.

We are not able to effectively use this to give comped tickets to our sponsorship partners... the language in the checkout process is very misleading. Can you please update immediately?
Echoing @David Diskin comment below. Please change! How is this not a feature yet? It's been 3 years of pending...

what I want is "Limit promo code usage to a set number of tickets TOTAL", not "per order"

Rea Dagohoy I seriously don’t understand why they haven’t done this yet. It’s so practical and it would allow more people to be able to commit to using Givebutter 100%.

This needs to be updated ASAP....now we are going to have to make them purchase all their tickets and then refund them the amount that they should have had credit for.

Can we PLEASE get this rolled out?! I need this feature before we can think about fully switching over to Givebutter.

I can't believe this request is now three years old and still not fulfilled.
The help language "Promo codes apply to each ticket individually" is really misleading and this feature is seriously flawed.
Apparently, if you set the limit to 5, it means the code can be used five times BUT any one of those buyers can use the code on as many tickets as they want during one purchase.
This means someone could use the code and purchase 20 tickets in one transaction, even if the code is limited to 5.
The real problem here is when I want to give away just ONE ticket to a volunteer or VIP. I can't do that because if I set the limit to 1, there's nothing stopping that buyer from selecting 20 in the quantity and getting 20 free tickets.

David Diskin - Agree this is a major flaw. We use to offer sponsors free tickets to the event but it doesn't work. If you track promo code per ticket, you should easily be able to limit to a number of tickets and not transactions. Awful design and should be fixed immediately. I don't understand how anyone is using this.

Yes! This needs to have a limit so it can't be shared or overused.

Yes! When I saw the UI, I made the assumption that "Quantity" meant "How many tickets can this promo code be used on" rather than "How many transactions can this promo code be used on" -- two VERY different things!
As a quick & easy first step, change the help text from
"Total number of times this promo code can be used." to
"Total number of transactions this promo code can be applied to."
This will clarify in the UI that the promo code applies to TRANSACTIONS and not TICKETS. Then, when you have time to plan, it would be great if you could create a toggle for promo codes. The toggle would switch between TRANSACTION and TICKET so that the user could choose (because both are useful!)

i had hoped to use the promo code as way for invited (non-paying) guests to ticket, but the fact that it applies to all tickets won't address that at all.
