Improve accessibility support for dashboard and campaign editor display settings
Selena Cayabyab
A user reported that they rely on the Dark Reader browser extension due to a vision impairment, but enabling the extension caused the campaign editor to become unresponsive. When the extension was turned off, the campaign editor loaded correctly.
They also tried using browser/incognito dark mode settings, but those did not provide a workable replacement. This creates an accessibility gap for users who need higher contrast, reduced brightness, or darker display options while editing campaigns.
It would be helpful to explore improved compatibility with common accessibility/display tools like Dark Reader, as well as stronger built-in display accessibility options within Givebutter, such as dark mode, high contrast support, or reduced brightness settings.
Impact:
Users with vision impairments or light sensitivity may not be able to comfortably use the campaign editor without third-party display tools. If those tools cause the dashboard to freeze or become unresponsive, they may be blocked from editing their campaigns independently.
Example:
A user on Windows 10 using Chrome/Edge reported that the campaign editor froze with a “Page unresponsive” message when Dark Reader was enabled. Disabling Dark Reader allowed the editor to load.

This would be a great update! Dark Reader also keeps profile pictures from showing.
