Display Net Donation Amount on Donation Receipts

Organizations often use donation receipts for reconciliation and donor stewardship. Seeing only the gross donation amount can lead staff to believe the organization received the full amount when it actually received less. Providing this breakdown would improve transparency for both organizations and donors and reduce support questions about where the deducted amount went.

The one thing I would say for this, is that the donor (from a tax purpose/IRS standpoint) gets credit for the full amount (aka original gross donation amount prior to fees taken, not the net amount. Or in the reverse case - they get tax credit for the donation amount PLUS the fee amount if they choose to cover that). So those full amounts should be on their receipt for their use for tax purposes as they are now.
Not to say it might not be a good thing for the donor to see the fees that are taken out of their donation, in case the next time they donate they might then choose to cover the fees too. But it would need to be clearly indicated on the receipt which part is for information purposes vs which part is for their tax receipt purposes, which might end up being confusing depending on how it's done.
The Transactions reporting is really useful in GB for capturing these fees, gross donation amounts, and net donation amounts.
