Alphabetize attendee list by last name for event check-in

I would like to have the option to alphabetize the list of attendees by last name for our event. This would make the check-in process more efficient, as currently, the list can only be sorted by first name. Having the ability to sort by last name directly within Givebutter would greatly enhance the check-in experience.

🎉 We have updated both the "Tickets" table and the "Attendees" table to now have "First name" and "Last name" columns in order to make it easier to sort, filter and search by first and last name!
The full name is still available under the "Contact" column which is now hidden but can be toggled for display along with the other hidden columns when viewing these tables.

Jordan Patrick Hi Jordan - thank you for the update on this! I'm a bit confused. Can you share how to find the alphabetical listing on the app? Most of our checkin happens using the app, and finding people by last name who have come without a bar-coded ticket in hand is the goal.

Hi Jolle Greenleaf - Thanks for reaching out and apologies for the confusion! Currently, this update is only in the dashboard and not on the mobile app, but you are able to view first name, last name and the full name on the Givebutter dashboard and it's mobile friendly.
We have a separate feature request board for our "Mobile App" which is why this was marked as completed here but not there. I'm tagging our awesome Mobile App PM Elaine Makikalli though so that she can let you know when this might be available on the mobile app :)

Jordan Patrick Ok. Does Givebutter's engineering team largely assume that our staff/volunteers will check people in using laptops? Or that customers will always bring bar-coded tickets? We have a lot of different types of events and our customers don't always remember to have their bar-coded tickets.

Agreed. Have been exporting to .csv to sort sort in Excel to get around this. Would be nice if the tool just worked better

I agree. Being able to sort by last name would be very very helpful. Check-in is stressful, let's give the staff / volunteers the correct tools they need for check-in.

I agree with the feedback provided, and I imagine other organizations like mine keep records alphabetized by last name.

I agree with this, especially since spouses/families usually arrive together and usually have the same last name, it is often more efficient to sort by last name
