The user would like the ability to optionally exclude in-kind or other offline transactions from the campaign’s Total Raised calculation and percentage-to-goal milestones.
Currently, in-kind and offline transactions count toward the overall campaign total. For organizations that track these entries for recordkeeping purposes but focus primarily on payout-based revenue, this can cause campaign goals and milestone percentages to be reached prematurely.
In this user’s case, auction items that were declared winners were recorded with the payment method “In-kind,” which caused those amounts to be included in the campaign’s total raised. As a result, the campaign appeared to reach progress milestones earlier than expected, even though those amounts were not part of actual processed payout revenue.
Having the ability to optionally exclude in-kind or offline transactions from goal calculations would allow organizations to:
  • Accurately reflect payout-based fundraising progress
  • Prevent inflated percentage-complete milestones
  • Maintain stronger campaign momentum
  • Still record in-kind and offline contributions for reporting and internal tracking purposes
This added flexibility would improve goal accuracy and campaign strategy.
