Summary:
Ability to mark a ticket holder as “Cancelled” or “Didn’t Attend” during event check-in, in addition to the current Checked In / Not Checked In statuses.
Problem:
Currently, during the check-in process, ticket holders can only be marked as checked in or remain not checked in. If someone purchased a ticket but cannot attend, organizers do not have a clear way to record that status without revoking the ticket.
Revoking a ticket returns it to the available ticket pool for resale, which is not always appropriate once the event is underway or when organizers simply want to track attendance accurately.
User Use Case:
Event organizers, especially venues with limited seating, need a way to quickly track when a guest will not attend. For example:
- A guest cancels before arriving
- Only part of a group attends
- A reservation holder informs staff they cannot make it
Being able to mark the ticket as “Cancelled” or “Didn’t Attend” would allow staff to know a seat is available for a walk-up guest.
