While that might be convenient, I'd rather scan the check using my bank's app, get the money right away with no processing fee, and manually enter the check into GB as an offline transaction.

If GB were the process the check via imaging, I'm sure they'd take a processing fee and I'd still have to manually match the check to a contact.
