I would like to design and print addresses on standard #2 envelopes. Would this be a possible additional feature?
Also designing and printing postcards would be a great feature too!

Love this! Please make sure to add a merge tag for the Transaction Reference number and also for check numbers. Thank you!

Liran Cohen: What kind of timeframe does this project have? I need a solution to physical thank you notes or gift acknowledgment letters. Need a beta tester? Thanks!
Liran Cohen
Kal Poole: Hi Kal, great timing! We’re just about to launch Letters in beta. To get access when we launch, just enable the Early Access Beta setting under Account Settings in your Dashboard.

Liran Cohen: I just used the beta version and it worked great!!
The only slight issue I encountered is that when I downloaded the zipped folder of the letters and the CSV file with the addresses they did not have the filetypes listed on the download. When I manually added the .zip and .csv suffixes then they opened up just fine. I was downloading from Chrome on a Macbook pro running Sonoma 14 fyi.
Thanks so much for adding this great feature!!
Liran Cohen
Kal Poole: Great to hear!! Thanks for the feedback and bringing this issue to our attention. We deployed a fix that should resolve this moving forward. Please let us know if you have anymore feedback.

Letter of Acknowledgement

Include more contact fields to help set up traditional Letters of Acknowledgement such as Title, Spouse Name, Formal Name vs. Informal Name, etc. Then users of Give Butter could export more details for a mail merge when sending out mass mailings or for letters of acknowledgement

I would love just a mail merge function that would allow us to create letters from all the contact information we have stored in the CRM.

This is good feedback, thank you Kristin Brassell !

Letters of acknowledgement in the least would be great (not so much direct mail, as that is an entirely different marketing service), as many donor CRMs do this. For those donors who give online through Give Butter, but where we would still like to hit print on a formal acknowledgement letter that fits to our own template. Or when we manually add check transactions, many donors who mail in a check expect a mailed letter acknowledgement back.

Kristin Brassell: Yes please! A "Print thank you note" feature is included in other software systems. That can't be an impossible request. Is this in the works?

Kal Poole: Came here to agree with THIS! I don't always have an email to send a receipt to when a check lands on my desk to process.

Katie Fitch: They have it up in the Beta testing - check it out!

Kal Poole: I'm not seeing this functionality. I want to save a "Donation Receipt Letter Template" on the letters page, select it, use a drop down or something to find the logged donation, have all the info fill out the letter, and then hit print. This, or connect it through logging the donation. Once it's logged, I click back into it, hit a cute little envelope icon that populates my template with the donation info, edit or add some custom messaging, and then click print. I created this automation in Google Workspace with a google form, which populates a google sheet and automatically creates a google doc of the info based on a template I made, and sends me an email confirming that I've logged the donation, gives all the details of the donation, saves the doc to the shared "donations" drive, and attaches the google doc to the email so I can go right in, edit if needed, and hit print. Once I print, I "lock" the document so none of us can accidentally change any info and it's done.
I would love to be able to automate all of this through Givebutter. Most of our donors give us checks and anticipate these letters for their records.

This is a whole 'nother ball of wax. Who is going to spec the paper and piece size? pay for the postage? whose indicia? which endorsement?

If these print items are to be sent in the postal system, then please include a feature to create mailing labels for the set of print items.
