Restoring hope community
Introduction
Restoring Hope Community (RHC) is a Community Based Organization (CBO) which was established on 4th May 2021 to help and support the marginalized people. Restoring Hope is an organization that is comprised of different projects that will help to ensure the wellbeing of vulnerable people within our community. Being a multilateral community based organization, it comprises of the following projects;
Care/support for Vulnerable Orphans and Widows (Guardians)
Youths Ministry (Providing psycho-social, economic and spiritual support)
Community health and development support (community sensitization on Heath, development and conducting health camps)
Preaching and spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The organization is located in Kiburara Trading Center, Nyantsimbo Ward, Ishongororo Town Council, Ibanda district, Uganda.
Currently the organization is driven by these projects but on the other hand the organization embraces adjustment as we live in the changing society, therefore any other project can come in as long as it is for the wellbeing of the vulnerable people in the community and also if the resources are available.
Background and the introduction of the Project to be run by Restoring Hope Community.
"Care for the Vulnerable Orphans and Widows"
Background of the project.
When a child loses one or both parents they're confronted by enormous psychosocial problems which reduces the child's chances of starting, continuing or completing their studies. As they grow, they become vulnerable to sexual reproductive challenges like teenage pregnancy, alcoholism, early marriages, rape, defilement among others. These risks and others are likely to affect their future livelihood as well. There are limited if not shortage of quick solutions to these challenges facing the vulnerable orphans. A sustainable involvement or loyalty to protecting, improving the livelihood of these orphaned children is needed to make sure that their needs are met and challenges solved through interventions at the community level as well as higher levels such that the actions taken can achieve the widest possible impact.
According to the National Population & Housing Census in 2014, 20% of the Ibanda district population between ages 0-17 were deemed vulnerable total orphans (lost their fathers and mothers). In Nyantsimbo Ward, Ishongororo Town Council Ibanda district, there's an invariable increase in the number of vulnerable total orphans that live with the guardians and majorly grandparents who are vulnerable. The challenge of RHC is to mobilize resources to facilitate the welfare of these vulnerable total orphans and their guardians (grandparents) to alleviate the prevailing challenges of school dropouts, poor health care, clothings, feeding and housing of these vulnerable orphans and their guardians.
Introduction (To the project)
The project aims at supporting 20 vulnerable orphan children who are residents of Nyantsimbo Ward in Ishongororo Town Council, Ibanda district.
When these vulnerable orphans are helped and supported to become what God created them to be, this will also glorify the name of Jesus Christ because in our community, such children are seen as a curse and widows are seen as people who are not supposed to be in public they are looked at as people of misfortune, therefore empowering them will not only be helpful to them, but also it will be forever standing testimony while contributing to the kingdom.
James 1:27 "Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world"
Furthermore, through this, the lost hopes will be restored under the operations of this project, more so sustainable development will be evidenced within our community hence ensuring sustainability of people's wellbeing.
Vision
To economically and socially empower vulnerable orphans living with their guardian grandparents by providing an environment that promises development of the children to their utmost potential.
Mission
To make sure that sufficient care is provided to both vulnerable total orphans and their guardian grandparents and to help these vulnerable total orphans get medical care, education and skill training such that they can become successful and useful community members who can contribute towards development of their communities.
Project Goals
To improve the health conditions of vulnerable orphans by providing them with medical care, clothing, food and improve the educational achievements.
Objective
The overall objective of RHC is to assist,
