Volunteer sync is live. Connect POINT and your volunteers become Givebutter contacts automatically.
What is POINT?
POINT is a volunteer management platform. Nonprofits use it to recruit, onboard, schedule, check in, and track volunteers.
A Givebutter donate button on your POINT page has been available for a while. What's new is the other direction: volunteer data now flows into Givebutter, so the people who give their time sit alongside the people who give money — without exporting a list and cleaning it up by hand.
What to expect
Volunteers become contacts
Names, emails, phone numbers, full addresses, and birthdays sync automatically into Givebutter. Each volunteer arrives as an individual contact.
Service hours on the record
Every volunteer hour posts to the contact's activity feed as a Volunteered entry with the date.
No duplicate records
Choose how POINT matches volunteers against the contacts you already have — email and name, email only, or name only. Matches merge into the existing contact instead of creating a second one.
Automatic nightly sync
POINT syncs overnight on its own. Run a manual sync any time you need it sooner.
A donate button on your POINT page
Already available, and a natural pair with contact sync. Add your Givebutter donation button to your POINT profile so volunteers can give without leaving the page.

Set this one up in POINT, not Givebutter.
Generate an API key in Givebutter under Settings → Developers → API, paste it into POINT under Organization → Integrations → Givebutter, and choose your matching rule.
