For example, if a bidder knows they're willing to pay up to $500 for an item, but the next highest bid would only be $105, they want it to show as their $500 bid to increase potential income for the organization.

Hello everyone -- you can now choose if you'd like your auction to run using Standard bidding or Automated bidding. The new setting is available in the Dashboard under your Auction. I think this may solve what you're looking for, let us know!

Just to consider the other side of this...might the next person in line be willing to bid say $110, but not $501? In this scenario, the $500 bidder would get it for $105 instead of $111 (for simple numbers).
However, overall, I LOVE the idea of the intent of this request.
